2024 Edition
For its 6th consecutive edition, EDIT Napoli has been hosted at the Archivio di Stato di Napoli, based in the monumental complex of SS. Severino e Sossio, one of the most important and ancient centres of Benedictine spirituality in Southern Italy. EDIT Napoli once again proved itself as a meeting and a starting point for dialogues between territory, tradition, institutions and contemporary design.
ABET laminati among the sun, wind and sea of a Neapolitan belvedere. Giulio Iacchetti and Matteo Ragni design an evocative installation for EDIT. The ABET work is suspended between metaphor and illusion and hosted on the terrace of the Archivio Militare di Stato for the entire duration of the show. For the EDIT Napoli public, the curtain will rise at the Teatro San Carlo to reveal the sets designed for Giuseppe Verdi’s “Simon Boccanegra” by architect Kengo Kuma, for Alcantara.Kuma has chosen to entitle his creation “Shiwa Shiwa”, meaning crease-furrow, describing a Japanese concept relative to the curvilinear development found in nature, and its elusiveness.
