What happens when bread is no longer fresh enough to eat? Studio CoPain invites participants to give stale bread a second life, not as waste, but as a material for making, building, and sharing.

During this hands-on workshop, participants will create a small dream bread house built entirely from reused bread. Through techniques such as sanding, burning, engraving, and carving, participants will experiment with the unexpected possibilities of bread as a construction material, while learning simple assembly techniques and how to make edible glue.

The workshop also explores the decorative side of bread-making, introducing participants to «dead dough», a traditional dough used to create details and ornaments used in bakery for special pieces and contest. Along the way, Studio CoPain will share recipes that transform stale bread into something delicious: from traditional French bread pudding to kvass.

The workshop concludes around the table, where the creations, recipes, and ideas are shared together.

Inspired by the communal ovens that once stood at the heart of French villages, Studio CoPain brings back the spirit of collective making: transforming an everyday material through experimentation, craftsmanship, and conviviality.
